Shipping I normally ship via USPS Priority Mail for US domestic ($7.50). International
shipping cost and times vary. I gladly ship FexEx Overnight for last minute orders or
USPS First Class if you have planned ahead.
Custom orders Custom orders can take 4-12 weeks depending on materials used
and alterations to designs. I have made cords and had them in the couple's hands
within 3 days. I can give you a better time estimate once you contact me to initiate
your order.
History of Gaia's Handfasting In 2004 my husband and I were handfasted in an
outdoor Renaissance encampment. We did most everything ourselves with an
extremely tight budget, but the day was beautiful. Upon returning to the encampment,
it was realized that I had forgotten to bring our handfasting cord from the hotel room
when I showered. We ended up using a piece of Celtic ribbon.
With my crafty background, it was then that I designed my first Handfasting cord and,
at my sister's recommendation, I sold it on Ebay. With a year of Ebay taking usually a
third of any income potential, I decided it was time to make my own website. On
Imbolc in 2006, Gaia's Handfasting was born.
Length and width of cords I will happily make your handfasting cord(s) any length
you request. Finished Cords In Stock and custom cords without length request will
range from 4-6 feet in length. Width depends on the ribbons/cording used in your
design.

The design process Once you decide on the style and colors for your cord, I will
loosely put the cord together and take a picture to make sure you are happy with the
colors and style. If there are any changes that need to be made, I will rework the cord
and send you another picture. This will continue until you are satisfied with the look
of your cord. Once the cord is complete, I will send you a final picture when I mail the
cord out.
